When I first booked my vacation of a lifetime to Greece, I knew that I wanted to return home with amazing photographs. Being an amateur photographer, I also knew that I wanted to take this opportunity to learn from a professional photographer who would not only guide me to the many sites and artifacts of Athens but who would also provide instruction on how to be a better photographer. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the two days my husband and I spent with PhotoVoyagers and our guides, Vangelis and Philip!
First, because of our schedule, we knew that we needed a custom tour. Many emails went back and forth prior to our arrival in Greece. All questions were thoroughly reviewed and answered by PhotVoyagers staff throughout the planning process. I really wanted to visit Meteora. PhotoVoyagers looked at the time that we had available, the places we wanted to see and encouraged us to not try and squeeze in a visit to Meteora during this vacation. I think this is a very important distinction and shows the true depth of their customer service. PhotoVoyagers could have easily encouraged us to spend more time and money and try to keep us at a whirlwind pace. They did not. Instead, they carefully crafted an itinerary based upon their years of photographic experience, their knowledge of Greece, Athens and surrounding areas, their understanding of my skill level and also kept in mind that my husband, a non-photographer, would also be included in the excursions.
The variety of places that we visited and the encouraging and personal instruction provided by Vangelis and Philip was truly a highlight of our vacation! We were constantly amazed with the high level of professionalism, concern and care that both guides provided during two very long, site filled days in Athens. They periodically would check in with us throughout our two days together to insure that we were enjoying our time with them. We enjoyed visiting with them and learning more about Greece, Athens and daily life during an amazing traditional Greek lunch at a small restaurant that we would have never found without their recommendation. Even after our vacation was over and we returned home, PhotoVoyagers continued to offer to review my photos and provide instruction and critique. I cannot say enough praise for Vangelis and Philip and I strongly encourage others to work with them whether it be a short day photo tour, a personalized custom tour such as ours or their more extensive multi-day workshops. I truly hope that I will be able to return in the future (perhaps schedule that trip to Meteora)! Thank you so much Philip and Vangelis!
